The Glow Yup: Review & Swatches of Chaos Kaleidoscope, Force, and Nebula Highlighters

Indie brand Chaos Makeup is well known for its iridescent Kaleidoscope Rainbow Highlighter. Drawn in by Kaleidoscope, I–naturally–added two purple highlighters, Force and Nebula, to my order as well. These formulas are marked by being “glitter free,” 100% pigments, and smooth and dewy as opposed to sparkly/metallic.

Each highlighter comes in a translucent pink seashell if you select the 36mm option. (They also come in 26mm pans.) Very ‘grammable, although I wish the thin plastic shells closed more securely. The glue on one pan also loosened pretty quickly, so the pan will fall out unless I’m very careful.

Berry Smooth(ie): Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser Review

I admit it, I’m biased against releases from American Kbeauty retailers. Within the last few years, Glow Recipe, Then I Met You (by Soko Glam‘s founder), and Peach & Lily (affiliate link for $10 off first order) have each come out with skincare lines. They ostensibly embody the Kbeauty ethos–but at Western prices. *cue eyeroll*

But I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Peach & Lily’s products (more on that in future posts) and now I’m surprised again by Glow Recipe’s Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser ($34 for 160ml). It’s a low-pH foaming cleanser that beautifies your sink (and Instagram).

Blue Me Away: Skin Biology 7% GHK-Cu Accelerant Review

Say “hai” to Skin Biology 7% GHK-Cu Accelerant ($70 for 1,000 mgs), a super concentrated solution strictly intended to make things pretty mix into other skincare for an added copper peptide boost.

Is 7% a lot? YES. For reference, the highest concentration in a Skin Biology serum/lotion is 3%, and NIOD CAIS (Copper Amino Isolate Serum) is 2% (and used to go up to 5%, but CAIS 5% appears discontinued). Skin Biology warns of irritation if the concentration is too high.

I tried Skin Biology as a potential replacement for my beloved (blue-loved?) but pricey CAIS (reviewed here). Skin Biology’s products are a better value in terms of both per-ml cost and the “free samples,” which–woohoo!–consist of full-size or deluxe-size products worth about $20 each. Dior Di-throned: Perfect Formula Ruby Pink Gel Coat Review & Swatches

I just named Perfect Formula Ruby Pink Gel Coat as one of my furvorite products of 2018. But it deserves more than just a brief mention. I have to hand it to Perfect Formula for nailing it as a Dior Nail Glow dupe. My digits dig it!

For more than 5 years, Dior Nail Glow was my go-to for Gude nails (i.e., lazy and easy). I raved about it in my review. Naturally, I tried to look for cheaper dupes because $28 for pinkish clear polish is as crazy as expecting Roxy to pass up wet foodz.
