This cushion caught my eye with its sassy bee-girl whose side-eye rivals only Renee’s when she’s seen bad contouring. Very Yoshitomo Nara. (<–I’m not that cultured; Renee pointed it out.)
This W-Honey Beam Cushion by W.Lab (provided by Q-depot for review) promises “celebrity’s honey skin.” Yeah, I started salivating on the spot, too. The cushion boasts SPF 50+ PA+++, honey, and honey extract.
Foundation cushions are officially mainstream now that L’Oreal came out with the True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation in 12 shades. But once upon a time in 2015, tanner shades weren’t easy to come by. To demonstrate her love and affection for me, even though I’m tan, Angela got me the below for Christmas. No, not the sushi cat, the cushion!
Behold the IT Cosmetics CC + Veil Beauty Fluid Foundation SPF 50
Our first full year of blogging is almost at an end. At the end of last year, we toasted to many more beauty-filled meowments, festive felines, and bad cat puns in 2015. We can confidently say “check, check, and CHECK” to them all. See?
For the summer, AmorePacific came out with a Resort Collection comprised of sunscreen products. I came across the Resort Collection Sun Protection Cushion SPF30+ ($40 for 0.52 oz.) and the Resort Collection Sun Protection Stick SPF 50+ ($40 for 0.24 oz.) at Sephora and couldn’t resist testing them out because they were unused testers! For a beauty addict enthusiast, that’s like stumbling across a winning lottery ticket. Check out the glam gold and white packaging.
Ultimately I decided against buying them for reasons I’ll explain below, so these are purely my initial impressions from trying them in the store.
Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation SPF 15 Cushion is my new magic makeup. What’s that you say? They don’t make cushions? Well, I DO, beeches! Behold the KGD Magic Cushion. Inside a Laneige case. I will explain:
I blew $30 on the Laneige BB Cushion while ignoring the fact that it contains Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (octinoxate) in abundance for that lovely SPF 50+. Of course I broke out like it was the zombie apocalypse. Continue reading “Koh Gen DO! – In CUSHION form “
The Innisfree cushions are reputed to run light. That definitely rang true for the Water Glow cushion, which is the only one from Innisfree that I’ve tried. I ordered a refill in No. 23 True Beige, hoping that it would match my winter color, which is a MAC NC15 and typically a 21 in other cushion brands. Indeed, the 23 was a good fit and I’ve been using it interchangeably with my shade 21 cushions this winter.
I love cushion compacts and I love customized things, so a DIY cushion compact is just up my alley. A DIY cushion is also a great solution for the dearth of cushion compacts for deeper skin tones and the general dearth of cushion versions of color makeup (highlighter, blush, bronzer).
Ahh, it’s nice to have friends who travel. They gain eye-opening experiences, life lessons, multicultural perspectives, blah blah…but most importantly, they can bring you back makeup goodies. My dear friend had the briefest layover in Seoul but managed to bring back the latest cushion compact by HERA: the Ultra Moisture Cushion in shade 21 Cool Vanilla.
The gorgeous pale purple and holographic packaging is almost reason enough to buy it. To top it off, the formula is actually really wonderful. I expected the usual satiny-dewy finish, but lo and behold, the Ultra Moisture is a soft, polished matte finish. ::mind blown::
