Naruko AMPM Super Triple HA+B3 Brightening Complex ($29 for 1.05 fl. oz.) is a serum whose star ingredients are hyaluronic acid (3 differently sized HA molecules!), vitamin B3 (aka niacinamide), and 3% tranexamic acid (the highest concentration approved by the Taiwan Department of Health for skin brightening).
It claims to add moisture and lighten dark spots. Oh just take my money already, why don’t you.
Directions: Pat a pearl-sized amount onto the face after cleansing and toning.
The serum dispenses as a blob of gel and quickly collapses into a watery liquid that spreads over skin readily. I usually apply twice as much as recommended and follow up with a brightening serum (which has a thicker cream texture and therefore goes on after the Naruko serum) and moisturizer.
I haven’t used this long enough to know whether the skin brightening claims are true. However, it’s worth adding to your existing routine just for the extra moisture because it sinks in so easily and doesn’t pill when you layer other products on top.
I’ve used another hyaluronic acid serum before, Watts Beauty 100% Hyaluronic Acid Solution, which is a watery liquid and also sinks in easily. But I think my skin is plumper* with the Naruko serum. With the Watts Beauty serum, I was never really sure whether it was doing anything. (And btw, the Watts Beauty serum is really only 1% hyaluronic acid.)
*Plumping effect is slight and possibly a placebo effect. But I like placebo effects.

Pros: Adds moisture. Weightless texture sinks in easily and works well with other skincare.
Cons: None.
