Dewin’ It – Dewytree Ginseng Nutritious Black Sheet Mask

Don’t mind if I ‘dew’ another sheet mask review. I have bazillions of them in the fridge and it’s almost part of my nightly routine now that I’m traveling and being dehydrated so much. During the last LA trip, I dropped 40 bones on a box of 10 sheet masks thanks to this beckoning sign advertising the NEW dew product:

It’s really just like any other sheet mask. I don’t know what’s the deal with the popular new black fabric but maybe if I read Korean perhaps I can understand any claims regarding the virtues of the black mask (cue Rachel Dolezal).

Here’s the box:

I opted for the ginseng instead of one of the other “flavors” (honey, syn-ake, deep detox) because it’s supposed to be nutritious and I guess my freckles need to drink more lightening juice and my youth cells need the revitalizing properties of ginseng.

Here’s the mask on. It’s pretty thick fabric which keeps moisture in, but it’s a stiff fabric so it is ill-fitted. Pretty annoying actually, because unless I’m lying down, the mask droops and won’t stay on. The serum also evaporates quite quickly for something so viscous. Thick serum + stiff mask that doesn’t absorb = not a well spent $40 on 10 masks.

The serum itself seems effective. It tingles a bit on my face and my skin feels super smooth and supple the next day. However there are other better masks out there that cost half the price.

Pros: feels like it works because of the tingling effect, smooth and supple skin in the morning.

Cons: I don’t like the ginseng smell that much, horrible fit, hard to keep mask on face.

    1. It’s inside this little store called Artland inside the San Gabriel Superstore in San Gabriel, California. I think it’s very new so perhaps it will be more widely available soon!

  1. Oh good. I was looking at these and passed on them really recently. Glad I did, since they sound pretty annoying.

You’re hilarious. I choked a little when I read that.
