Goop! There It Is: Supergoop! Sunscreen Mousse, Hand Cream, and Oil Reviews

Supergoop! is the company that most closely aligns with my obsession passion.  Their products are designed to make sunscreen as easy and comfortable to apply as regular skincare, a mission that is near and dear to my balls heart.  It’s the company that I would have dreamed up if I had balls instead of a law degree.

Today I’m spotlighting 3 products that truly fill gaps in the market:

These use only chemical filters, although the company makes physical-only sunscreens, too.

BeautyandtheCat Sunscreen: Why Balls and Why Now

https://volitionbeauty.com/campaigns/sun-pearls-spf-30Have I mentioned my balls yet?  Sunscreen balls, that is.

For the last two months, I’ve been exposing my balls to as many people and in as many places as I can. Here, Instagram, Facebook…

Why am I so passionate about my balls getting into your hands?

1. You need more sunscreen than you think.

As a rule of thumb, dermatologists often recommend a quarter of a teaspoon for your face in order to achieve the level of SPF advertised on the label.  (I’ve even started to see half a teaspoon recommended.)  Psssh, you scoff.  I’m easily slapping on that much sunscreen/SPF moisturizer. SUNSCREEN WEEK Announcement

We’re on the cusp of summer, and here in DC, temperatures have just barely emerged from fall-like temps…and immediately ramped up to the 90s.  The UVA and UVB rays have ramped up as well.  What better time to announce Sunscreen Week?

What’s Sunscreen Week?  We and several other bloggers and Instabloggers will be posting all week about sun protection.  Our favorite sunscreens, lessons learned (sometimes painfully), application tips…basically every topic under the sun.  Keke.

And of course, I’ll be urging you all to VOTE for my sunscreen by clicking here.  Only a month left in the campaign and we need every vote to bring my idea for sunscreen balls to life.  SUN’S OUT, BUNS BALLS OUT.

Check in to our blog and Instagram (@beautyandthecat) all week for new posts (May 19-25).

Our furrrriends will be posting all week long, too:

@adoredee / adoredee
@beauty_unplugged
@bellanoirbeauty_ / Bella Noir Beauty
@fiddysnails / Fifty Shades of Snail
@littlebitofglow / Little Bit of Glow
@mcuriousity
@vanity.rex / VanityRex

You can also find us all on Instagram–and join Sunscreen Week yourself–with #nutsforballs (because they’re all nuts for my balls ::grin:: I cannot speak to balls in general).

My Space? – Girlactik Beauty Waterproof Eye Glaze

For the last couple of months, I’d been pulling some extra hours for the man. That means going straight from bed to my work desk and from my work desk straight to bed. That means…SOME makeup must be left at work. #Didntwakeuplikedis.

You know what’s the one thing you NEED? Eye primer in a champagne color! It’s actually truly essential. I use it as primer, shadow, and even highlighter. Picked this little-known beauty up at the Rite Aid in Brookfield (I also do shopping at pharmacies now, sob)

Behold my Space-Themed Waterproof Eye Glaze from Girlactik

($20 but no longer available on the website)

Dueling Manjos: COSRX One Step Moisture Up Pad Review

I immediately tore this from Renee’s hands when she arrived from NY with COSRX One Step Moisture Up Pads, compliments of COSRX at a K-beauty meetup. Each tub has 70 pads and can be found online for about $19.

A pad that swipes on moisture instead of an astringent or acid? Count me in. This is the type of novel idea (like my sunscreen balls–which still need YOUR vote to get made and sold) that I jump all over.

My interest was only heightened by seeing swoonworthy Mr. COSRX on the lid. Naturally, this post shows off all my man stickers as much as it does COSRX. I have…just a few of those.  Continue reading “Dueling Manjos: COSRX One Step Moisture Up Pad Review”

Saved by the Smell: Banila Co. Miss Flower & Mr. Honey Cream Review

I’ve pollen in love…with Banila Co.’s Miss Flower & Mr. Honey Cream. The joy factor is off the charts with this honey-scented cream-balm hybrid. You could say that I’ve been honeypotted…and liked it.

One whiff is like a trip to Sweet (Ol)factory.

At press time, I was unable to confirm the nature of the relationship between Miss Flower & Mr. Honey. Rumors are they’re dating but not exclusive as Miss Flower is known to swing both ways and Mr. Honey was recently spotted cavorting with a bear.

Shisei-no – The Ginza’s Trial Kit

Hey remember when air travel wasn’t such a fking nightmare (where you’re dragged shrieking out of your paid seat in front of the elderly and children) and people actually thought it was glamorous and appealing? No? Well me neither, because it was in the 1950s. Despite bathing in virgin blood to keep my youth and appearance, I can assure you I’m not old enough to remember the 1950s.

While air travel has NEVER been glamorous or appealing, I can attest that first class is well…better than the cattle class. I’m full of insight, I am. Look at this amenity kit they give out in the ANA first cabin:

Angela (to Renee and Indya): LADIES!!! I have a very speshul present for you.

Indya: Does it involve cutting out lolcat talk?

Angela: Me haz no idea what zis hooman is talking about. Ahem–*whips out package*–feast your eyes on this.
