Ooh La La-neige Water Drop Tints: Review of Peach Coral, Neon Pink, and Scarlet Red

Laneige Water Drop Tints are glossy, creamy, moisturizing lip stains.

Without eating or drinking, they last 5 or 6 hours.  Scarlet Red probably lasts even longer than that.  The lighter colors fade in intensity after an hour or two and are buildable to medium but not full coverage; even after fading however, you can still feel them on your lips providing some moisture.  The colors leave a slight stain.  Even though I was disappointed with the sheerness and subtlety of the lighter colors, I still use them a lot because they’re very convenient, long-lasting lip colors.

These are creamy enough that you can apply onto bare lips.  Add a balm later if your lips start to feel dry.  If I haven’t been eating, I usually just add lip balm rather than re-applying.

The lip swatches were done on bare lips with one coat all over and a second coat on the inside of my lips.

Peach Coral is a milky pastel peach orange.  I wish the orange tones were stronger.  I’m wearing it now and in some lights it looks pastel peach and in others the pinkness of my lips comes through quite strongly and it just looks like a light veil of peachy/orangeness on top.

Neon Pink is a milky yet bright pale pink with a tinge of peach and on the verge of fluorescent pastelness.  Unfortunately, it’s not actually neon.  Although it might look similar to Peach Coral in the photos, it’s definitely pinker in real life.

Scarlet Red is a bright orange red and surprisingly pigmented and opaque with just one swipe.

Compared to the Dior Addict Fluid Sticks (see my past reviews of Wonderland and Rieuse), the look is quite similar but the feel is very different.  Although the Fluid Sticks and the Water Drop Tints both have creamy, moist, and glossy finishes, the Water Drop Tints feel noticeably thinner and lighter and aren’t tacky.  And although they remain a noticeable thin coat on your lips, they also seem to set after a few minutes whereas the Fluid Sticks remain fluid and smearable.

July 2016 Update: Keep these out of the sun because they will fade in color.  Here’s an old Neon Pink compared with a freshly opened one.  Both still pretty but a big difference in color!  Orchid Violet also faded into a pale lilac, losing all the pink tones.
