I Like Pig Butts and I Cannot Lie – Elizavecca Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack

Piggy piggy piggy can’t you see, somehow your collagen just hypnotizes me….ok it’s not the best rewrite of Notorious B.I.G ever but rap songs ain’t gonna make your skin silky smooth like this mask:

Pig collagen has been the rage for awhile. And swine not? Its gooey, gelatinous texture just seems to promise the plumpness of youth. And who has seen a piggy with a single wrinkle?

The consistency of the mask is exactly like you’d expect. It’s like a jiggly cross between jello and pudding or flan. It’s a weird gross brownish grayish color like an expired bubble tea but it smells nice (like a new bubble tea.)

Per instructions that I searched over the Internet, I slathered a layer of the gelatinous goo on my face. It was light. It kind of had a tendency to film over a bit on the face into a shiny layer. But after 20 minutes, I rinsed and the whole thing had seemed to absorb fully into my face!

My skin was very supple and silky right after. But the effect was temporary. Overall I didn’t see much of a long term difference. Maybe the collagen is supposed to sink into my face and serve as backup plumping supply? Not sure. It’s nice to have, perhaps as a before-a-big-night-out ritual, but not a huge life changer. Sowweee

Pros: cute packaging, light mask good for summer months, seems to absorb into skin readily.
Cons: effects are not as WOW as I would like.

  1. Thanks for the review!

I remember reading somewhere that products that claim to put more collagen into your skin are bogus because collagen molecules are actually too big to be absorbed past your skin barrier. So I think the effects will always be very temporary… Poo! 😦

But seems like an effective product if you need a quick boost! Only I feel like I can’t use it because I’m a vegetarian… and it would feel so strange putting piggy collagen on my face… 😛

    1. I’m with you on animal products. Renee is the one with the entire animal kingdom in her medicine cabinet 🙂 I try to avoid animal products in my cosmetics. –Angela

    2. The effects are moisturizing, as collagen isn’t able to rejuvenate your skin or boost the collagen production. But moisturizing isn’t bad either 🙂

    3. I’ve heard the same thing. Too bad. Wouldn’t it be nice to just be able to slather on a layer of collagen and call it a day?

BTW, had to mention this gem: “Piggy piggy piggy can’t you see, somehow your collagen just hypnotizes me” LOL
