Hit Me BB One More Time – Erborian BB Crème Au Ginseng Korean Formula

East meets West in the Erborian French Korean skin care line. I swooned at the lovely display at Sephora. The Francophile and Korean skincare fanatic goddess in me pole vaulted (a la 50 Shades of Heeeey.) Like fusion food, it promises exciting synergies between two totally divergent cultures. I felt butterflies but balked at the $61 price tag for the Pate au Ginseng Mask. But there was a consolation item: the Erborian BB cream (if you can count $39 BB cream as consolation. Oh wait, but it’s crème, oohlala, so it’s much classier than your plebeian cream.)

01 NoTS Lip Alive Color Mousse 03 Sweet Raspberry ReviewMmm, I’m having sweet flashbacks to “My Love From Another Star” thanks to the Lip Alive Color Mousse in 03 Sweet Raspberry by the Korean brand NoTS ($32 for 5g; provided for consideration by Q-depot).  NoTS–which stands for Noble Through Skin–is a cruelty-free* line of skincare with a few select makeup products.

I confess that “My Love From Another Star” is the only K-drama I’ve ever really watched.  Nothing else has pulled me in.  I tried watching “The Producers” with Do Min Joon, I mean Kim Soo Swoon, and gave up. Peaches and Screams – Peach & Lily’s First Ever Sample Sale Recap

If you are reading this, it’s TOO LATE. Too late for sanity, and definitely too late to grab anything that I hoarded when I was there at NOON on the dot yesterday (Wed Aug 5, 2015.) Blame Ange and the other 3 cohorts that put in orders. This is a bird’s eye view of what I hoarded on their behalf:

And from a scale of Frank Gallagher (Shameless) to Cersei Lannister (SHAME) I’m somewhere in the middle. I took a couple of things of each (except for 5 Shangpree gold masks, but plenty was left when I was there.) Some people TOOK THE ENTIRE SHELF of any items.

01 Dior Diorsnow Rainbow Powder ReviewThe Diorsnow Rainbow Powder (officially Les Neiges de Diorsnow Colour Correcting Radiance Powder in 001) is an Asia exclusive that Renee brought back from Taipei at my request. I thought this might be of interest because (1) it’s so crazy beautiful (serious makeup p0rn ahead!), (2) many of you live in Asia, and (3) sometimes Asia exclusives pop up in the U.S., such as during Nordstrom’s summertime Anniversary Sale (although that’s starting July 17th and I haven’t heard anything yet…).  Update: The beauty specials for the Anniversary Sale are now up and they definitely don’t include Rainbow Powder. Update #2 (Feb. 2016): An almost exact dupe–in appearance at least–can be found in the Guerlain Meteorites Voyage Exceptional Compacted Pearls of Powder ($179 with the case or $59 for the refill pan).  I updated this post with a comparison below.

Koh Gen DO! – In CUSHION form 

Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation SPF 15 Cushion is my new magic makeup. What’s that you say? They don’t make cushions? Well, I DO, beeches! Behold the KGD Magic Cushion. Inside a Laneige case. I will explain:

I blew $30 on the Laneige BB Cushion while ignoring the fact that it contains Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (octinoxate) in abundance for that lovely SPF 50+. Of course I broke out like it was the zombie apocalypse.

01 Code Glokolor N All-uid ReviewThis will be a short review.  I hated this.  I even thought about giving it a second try, and then I thought, Why?  Incidentally, I received this in the K-Beauty Box/Get It Beauty Box promoted by Soko Glam last year, which also contained another hated foundation, the Dr. Jart+ Bounce Beauty Balm.  The most positive thing you’ll see in this post is the GIF.

Matte About You: Shu Uemura Tint in Gelato in AT 02 Sugar Plum & BG 01 Puffy Chocolate Review

Shu Uemura Tint in Gelato ($28) is a creamy, super-pigmented liquid intended as a lip and cheek color. I’ve only used them as lipsticks since I’m generally not too skilled with liquid blushes.

01 Shu Uemura Tint in Gelato ReviewLovely Indya at Bella Noir Beauty gave me AT 02 Sugar Plum and BG 01 Puffy Chocolate (the shades are inspired by gelato) and will be helping me swatch and demonstrate the colors. Sugar Plum is a rich, strong, cool-toned pink with a touch of purple. Puffy Chocolate is a tan beige, not nearly as dark as its name suggests.

Roth; it ain’t just a Retirement Plan – Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral Broad Spectrum SPF 45 Sunscreen

After being darkened to level “crispy” in Vegas I have been ever so thankful for good face sunscreen. And I can’t just take any face sunscreen, peasants. I have an allergic reaction that develops into measle-like rashes at one droplet of any chemical sunscreens. You can imagine the dilemma of being allergic to sunscreen in the summer. Voila! Mineral/physical barrier sunscreen to the rescue!
