Hail Hydra! – Sexylook Full Hydra Effect + Neck Cotton Black Mask

The Sexylook black mask series are a new fun find for me from the Taiwan trip. Because…dun dun DUN…they contain jellyfish extract (new species added to beauty regimen) and snail extract (classic favorite.)

Look at it; it contains jellyfish. Nom nom nom. I love eating them in dim sum…sliced and dipped in red wine vinegar…and I guess those gelatinous springy creatures contain some sort of hydrophilic quality that helps the skin?

Snow Regrets: Nature Republic Super Aqua Max Moisture Watery Cream Review (Pink for Dry Skin)

Way too long ago, we went to the Nature Republic store in Flushing, Queens. The Super Aqua Max Moisture Watery Cream caught my eye. Primarily because there was a tall display and it was on sale, ahem . . . This gel-cream comes in 3 formulas: blue for oily skin, green for combo skin, and pink for dry skin.

01 Nature Republic Super Aqua Max Moisture Watery Cream Pink ReviewI went with the pink one since (freakin’ neverending) winter and tretinoin have left my skin on the dry side. It boasts 30 different marine plant extracts, 24-hour moisturizing and firming effect, and a protective-layer-forming silicone gel formula.

Captain’s log: last day in Taipei 03/20/15 sitting outside fking SaSa waiting for it to open like I’m an addict at a methadone clinic. And guess what? There are a ton of others waiting with me!!!

This is my exact location, because you WILL want to visit this very spot (or any SaSa, but this location is your best bet to start) and walk east towards Taipei City Hall MRT station to find the biggest proliferation of Asian cosmetics in the area. Like, a LOT.

Heaven Scent? su:m37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick Review

You’d be forgiven for thinking that the su:m37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick was an actual miracle. The raves on the interwebz are nearly universal. This little stick inspires buying frenzies and, when it goes out of stock (as it did when it was temporarily discontinued last year), laments of regret.

02 sum37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick ReviewIntrigued by the hype, I ordered a stick when it briefly came back into stock on Soko Glam in October. Since then, MRCS (as it’s known in Asian beauty circles) has made a full comeback and can be found for purchase online from various Korean sellers.

Need for Seed – TheFaceShop’s White Seed Exfoliating Foam Cleanser

Here’s a super seed to supersede your previous beauty cleanser: the face shop’s new seed line. I got a sample of the whitening and exfoliating chia seed cleanser and fell in love with it. So of course despite having a vanity full of scrubs I had to get this:

Now the “white seed” cleanser doesn’t specifically mention Chia seeds. But it doesn’t really matter because the graininess of the seeds are used for exfoliation and not for their moisturizing properties.

Hydraluron . . . and Off: Hydraluron Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

01 Hydraluron ReviewHydraluron ($25 for 1  fl. oz.) by indeed Laboratories gained something of a cult following after skincare guru Caroline Hirons raved about its hydrating and plumping powers. Although it was available in the UK, Hydraluron didn’t hit the States until last year. When I saw it available on drugstore.com, I snapped it up immediately.

All of Mii: Miibox in San Gabriel – Store Review

Before whizzing by it on Valley Blvd. one night, I had never heard of Miibox. All I noticed was a store with colorfully lit shelves in neat, spacious rows. Hmm, I thought. Potential new Asian beauty store? A quick Google search showed that Miibox is a retailer of Asian beauty products and snacks. The brick-and-mortar storefront officially opened on January 31st and offers a selection of the products sold on the website. IMG_0049
