Butt In & Butt Out: What’s in Angela’s Bag (Beanpole x Kakao-Apeach Heritage Mini Tote)

See the last edition of this post, featuring a Paul & Joe crossbody cat bag.

01 Beanpole Kakao Apeach ToteSun’s out, buns out!

If you follow us on Instagram, you’ll know my (Angela’s) enchantment with a plump little guy named Apeach. Apeach is one of the characters in the instant-messaging app KakaoSouth Korea’s most popular with 93% of smartphone users using it, I might add–and is ostensibly a genetically engineered peach. HA! And double HA!

HE’S A BUTT. Plain and simple. Ass clear ass day.

I’m so enchanted by Apeach that I bum-rushed the Beanpole website when I spotted Apeach wallets, handbags, luggage tags, and MOAR. They’re part of a collab that Beanpole, a Korean fashion brand, did with Kakao featuring all the major characters. Low pH=Low Joy? Review of COSRX and Acwell Low-pH Cleansers

01 Low pH Cleansers ReviewOf course not!  There are lots of enjoyable low-pH cleansers.  I just wanted a clickbaity title and it worked because you’re here, aren’t you?  Maniacal laugh.

However, these particular low-pH cleansers by COSRX and Acwell are low joy in my book because they’re on the clinical/medicinal side.  Perfectly functional though, and depending on your preferences, worth checking out.

Knock knock, Whoo’s There: The History of Whoo Honey Ginseng Sleeping Mask

I was in Atlanta (do they still call it Hot-lanta?) visiting a baby (always feel compelled to clarify that it’s not mine) and picked up an amazing night/sleeping mask that I’d never seen on the shelves before. As soon as our eyes met, they locked and we were in lurrve. I said “I must have you,” and she said “Only $45 baby” Online is much more and I’ve not seen it often in stores.

Behold The History of Whoo Honey Ginseng Sleeping Mask

Being a fan of The History of Whoo (among my first KoreanBeauty loves) I knew she’s another good one and would never let me down. I was right, Whew (or do I mean whoohoo?)

Two to Tan-go: Vita Liberata Trystal Self Tanning Bronzing Minerals in Bronze

Since our last meet up around Christmas, Angela generously gifted me many good stuphs, including this tanning powder. By Asian standards I am a shade of “too-dark” so I think she’s just trying to foil my good looks. Ahem. Also she’s reviewed it here (in the lighter shade Sunkissed), but this is my second professional opinion.

Behold the Vita Liberata Trystal Self Tanning Bronzing Minerals in No. 2 Bronze

Miss Roxy wanted to contour her cheekbones too

Blue It: Herbivore Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask Review

01 Herbivore Blue Tansy Mask Review

And so my obsession with blue skincare continues.

My latest acquisition is the Herbivore Blue Tansy Mask ($48 for 2 oz./60g).  OK, fine, the full name is ::deep breath::

Herbivore Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask

That, in a word 8 words, sums up the mask.  Blue?  Check.  Anti-inflammatory blue tansy oil as a star ingredient?  Check.  AHA (alpha hydroxy acid)?  Yup, in the form of fruit enzymes.  BHA (beta hydroxy acid)?  Yup again, in the form of willow bark and aloe leaf.  Resurfacing and clarifying?  Sure but only temporarily.

That last point is why I returned the product. Continue reading “Blue It: Herbivore Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask Review”

01 Pink Seoul ReviewPink Seoul is a newcomer on the K-beauty subscription box scene. Intrigued by some of their distinguishing features (which I’ll get into below), we accepted a box to review courtesy of Pink Seoul. Was I Seoul-ed or do I still need to Pink about it?

Cat Scratch Fever – Jason Vitamin E 32,000 IU Extra Strength Scar & Stretch Mark Treatment

What’s love without a little PAIN? So I got into a little cat fight. By a little I mean my face was mauled. By cat fight I mean, cat fight.

Miss Roxy, startled from the sound of a mocking cucaracha or what-have-you, launched from the bed full force one night at 3AM and took tiny pieces of my facial skin in her back claws. Those chubby, stout toes apparently can still stretch out evil mean claws.

I was very upset (but not at her…oh the forgiveness of a mother) at the possibility of looking like Scarface forever. This pic below was 24 hours after I cleaned the wound and the blood had coagulated. I should’ve taken the initial zombie pic with sticky blood running down my face.

Behold Jason Vitamin E 32,000 i.u oil to the rescue:

Going for Gold: Tatcha Camellia Moisturizing Lip Balm Review

Tatcha, Tatcha, Tatcha, Taaaaatch me! I wanna be dirty. -Rocky Horror Picture Show

Introducing Tatcha Gold Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm ($36 for 8g/0.28 oz.; sent by Tatcha for consideration).

01 Tatcha Gold Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm Review

Yes, you read that right.  24-KARAT GOLD.  Fahncy!  ::holds lip balm with pinkie in the air::  Even the box is fahncy (it’s currently holding hair ties on my vanity), and the jar is glass.

Topped with a delicate square of 24-karat gold leaf, the balm itself is a colorless firm jelly.  The consistency is slippery, shiny, and thin with not a hint of wax–a big plus to me because I’m not a fan of waxy balms such as Fresh’s Sugar lip balms, which don’t add moisture or work well with lipstick.  My preferences run along the lines of Dior Lip Glow for day and Hourglass Lip Oil or Vaseline for night. Get Buzzed – Honeycé Juicy Spa shampo, conditioner, and treatment

If you can bee-lieve it, I’d (Renee) been super beesy hitting the icy East coast slopes to try and ride my snowboard and Angela has been keeping the blog alive….or shall I say ahive? Kakakaka. T’is good to have a partner ain’t it? Anybody wanna guest post?

So since I keep my hair in a long braid out, it has been super fried from the ice, especially when gravity drags me head first down the mountain. HAD to bust out this gaw-geous set that I picked up from Ichimi Cosme.

Behold the Honeyce Juicy Spa line:

Purr Mix-A-Lot: Semi-Homemade Skincare

img_8991

Just call me Purr Mix-A-Lot! (I do like big butts…) Lately I’ve been enjoying mixing products together. It can boost the results, improve ease of use, and also speed up my routine (reducing multiple steps into 1).

I just put everything into one palm, stir roughly with my fingers, and then mush everything into my face.

Here’s how I’ve been mixing it up:

Cleanser + Exfoliator = Thorough Yet Gentle Cleanse
