Another couple of months and another sweet work surpurrrrrrise from PinkSeoul! The July/August PLUS box that was sent to us for review contained a couple of items that tickled many of our viewers: the Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher from Skinfood and the Benton Fermentation, among others.
Behold the PinkSeoul July/August bi-monthly Subscription Box:
This is the July/August PinkSeoul PLUS Box. Skin type: Normal. Area of Focus: Pigmentation

Nourish the Skin: The Face Shop Disney Collection
Nourish the Skin is Emily, a UK’er living in Korea, so you know she has plenty of access to the latest and greatest K-beauty makeup. Her post on The Face Shop x Disney collaboration has close looks at the lip tints, eyeshadows, mascara, eyeliner, and cushions featuring Mickey, Winnie the Pooh, and Monsters, Inc.!
So long as we’re talking kute K-beauty…some of her recent posts also feature A’PIEU x Rilakkuma, The Face Shop x Kakao Friends, and Holika Holika x Gudetama. Please wipe the drool off your keyboard.
Hosts’ Pick
My Serendipities: Holika Holika Dodo Cat Lip Tint Bar
My Serendipities is Toronto-based Joann who, like us, loves cats. (Which did not influence our pick at all, no siree.) The Holika Holika Dodo Cat Lip Tint Baris a heart, pink, and covered in cats–infinitely Instagrammable in other words. Check out Joann’s review and demo of this Dior Lip Glow-esque balm.

Welcome to Round #4 of AB See, the Asian beauty link party! Click here for my post explaining what a link party is.
We’re hosting this week, and the theme is…
Kiss & Makeup: Asian Beauty Makeup
Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream in #2 Aqua Neutral Review – Unboxing Beauty
The Face Shop Disney Collection – Nourish the Skin
A Blush with Fame: DIY Cushion Blush Tutorial
Etude House Real Powder Cushion swatches review – fishscalekisses
[Berrisom] – Oops My Lip Tint Pack Review! Peeling Delight.
As a makeup lover, I (Angela) picked this theme because I especially love the innovation and trends that have originated from Asian beauty brands. Gradient lips, aegyo sal, shiny foundation, cushion makeup, … the list goes on. And sometimes, it’s simply a matter of doing it better than non-AB brands have done it (see Laneige Water Drop Tints, Clio Kill Black liquid liner, and Fairydrops mascara).
Bloggers: tell us about AB makeup products, tips, or techniques that you like. Until this Sunday, July 24th, click below to add your link to an old or new post. Due to some…technical difficulties (ahem, I learned that WordPress.com-hosted blogs can’t do Javascript)…your thumbnails and links won’t show up here automatically, so I’m adding them manually each day.
Three Simple Rules:
1) Asian Beauty related posts only.
2) Comment on three other participants’ posts! It’s all about sharing the fun.
3) You can include the AB See logo above and link back to this page on your submission. Keep the party alive!
Readers: starting Sunday July 24th, vote for up to three of your favorite posts. Click here to vote.
Top posts will be featured on here! Looking forward to seeing what you all submit!
September 2016 UPDATE: Ichimi Cosme changed its name to Ume Cosme. Instagram and Yelp links have been updated.
Today’s post is a closer look–in pictures–at Japanese and Korean beauty store Ichimi Cosme in New York’s East Village. That link will take you to Renee’s first look at the store, and Ichimi Cosme is also on Instagram and Yelp.
That’s Renee shopping because I was in the midst of my no-buy when we went ::quietly sobs::
Ichimi is located at:
318 E. 9th St
New York, NY 10003
(between 1st and 2nd Ave.)
What I love about Ichimi Cosme is that it offers a ton of Japanese beauty brands that weren’t available before in NY (at least not as far as we two shopaholics knew). Los Angeles (including the Asian suburb of San Gabriel Valley) has long had tons of Japanese offerings. (I’ve posted shopping guides on LA shopping and specifically Takashima in the SGV before.) There’s a new sheriff in town in the realm of K-Beauty subscription boxes: PinkSeoul. And she sent us a complimentary box full of wonders for us to review. Being the greedy, super saturated, grabby-handed furrrreeee stuphs loving purrrrson that I am, I lunged for it:
All are welcome–regardless of whether you blog or just enjoy reading blogs! Click on the AB See logo above to go to Maple Tree Blog‘s post kicking off our inaugural party and giving the exact details on how to participate.
I figured I’d make this a “Link Parties for Dummies” post because I didn’t know what a link party was until recently!
What’s a link party?
Basically, bloggers submit links to their posts fitting the theme of the week (always AB-related for AB See), and readers check out the posts and vote for their favorites. This link party’s an opportunity for AB fans to see new blogs (AB See, get it?) and for AB bloggers to introduce themselves to new readers (and meet other bloggers, too!). Since our last meet up around Christmas, Angela generously gifted me many good stuphs, including this tanning powder. By Asian standards I am a shade of “too-dark” so I think she’s just trying to foil my good looks. Ahem. Also she’s reviewed it here (in the lighter shade Sunkissed), but this is my second professional opinion.

Pink Seoul is a newcomer on the K-beauty subscription box scene. Intrigued by some of their distinguishing features (which I’ll get into below), we accepted a box to review courtesy of Pink Seoul. Was I Seoul-ed or do I still need to Pink about it?
What Makes Pink Seoul Different from Other K-Beauty Subscription Boxes?
Pink Seoul offers 3 types of subscription boxes: the regular box is $39.95 every 2 months, the Plus box is recommended for ages 35+ and $49.95 every 2 months, and the Mask box is $29.95 monthly. Read more about the differences here. Free shipping to all 50 states, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands; extra for other destinations. Use code FRIENDS10 for 10% off your first box.
