While frolicking with Angela in Flushing, Queens, in July, we came across The Face Shop which had the ENTIRE line of The Face Shop x KaKao Friends collection. Not one to hesitate at grabbing ANYTHING cyyyute and yellow, I was immediately drawn to the below.
And yes, I am posting something I saw in July for TWO reasons: I spent July-September in Europe with crappy wi-fi. And I just actually finished the entire tube of this, so the experiment is complete.

Nourish the Skin: The Face Shop Disney Collection
Nourish the Skin is Emily, a UK’er living in Korea, so you know she has plenty of access to the latest and greatest K-beauty makeup. Her post on The Face Shop x Disney collaboration has close looks at the lip tints, eyeshadows, mascara, eyeliner, and cushions featuring Mickey, Winnie the Pooh, and Monsters, Inc.!
So long as we’re talking kute K-beauty…some of her recent posts also feature A’PIEU x Rilakkuma, The Face Shop x Kakao Friends, and Holika Holika x Gudetama. Please wipe the drool off your keyboard.
My Serendipities: Holika Holika Dodo Cat Lip Tint Bar
My Serendipities is Toronto-based Joann who, like us, loves cats. (Which did not influence our pick at all, no siree.) The Holika Holika Dodo Cat Lip Tint Baris a heart, pink, and covered in cats–infinitely Instagrammable in other words. Check out Joann’s review and demo of this Dior Lip Glow-esque balm.

Welcome to Round #4 of AB See, the Asian beauty link party! Click here for my post explaining what a link party is.
We’re hosting this week, and the theme is…
Kiss & Makeup: Asian Beauty Makeup
As a makeup lover, I (Angela) picked this theme because I especially love the innovation and trends that have originated from Asian beauty brands. Gradient lips, aegyo sal, shiny foundation, cushion makeup, … the list goes on. And sometimes, it’s simply a matter of doing it better than non-AB brands have done it (see Laneige Water Drop Tints, Clio Kill Black liquid liner, and Fairydrops mascara).
Three Simple Rules:
1) Asian Beauty related posts only.
2) Comment on three other participants’ posts! It’s all about sharing the fun.
3) You can include the AB See logo above and link back to this page on your submission. Keep the party alive!
Readers: starting Sunday July 24th, vote for up to three of your favorite posts. Click here to vote.
Top posts will be featured on here! Looking forward to seeing what you all submit!
The Face Shop’s Face It Extreme Dot Pen Eyeliner EX in 01 Black can actually be used for the subtlest, most natural look that’s far from extreme. A felt-tip liquid eyeliner pen, the eyeliner’s main selling point is the three-pronged fork tip designed for tightlining between lashes.
The centerpiece of babydoll cheeks is a cool-toned pink blush–be it hot candy pink or pastel pink. If you have warm/yellow undertones like me, you might have experienced trouble getting those types of colors to show up true to pan. Yellow undertones can cause tones to skew warm and even muddle cool pinks into appearing peachy or brownish.
The solution? Apply a light purple blush beforehand.
Light purple primers and color correctors are used to neutralize sallow skin, so logically light purple blushes do the same thing–just with more pigment. The purple counteracts yellow tones, laying a foundation for colors to show clearly.
For this post, I used Everyday Minerals blush in Anytime, a matte chalky lavender, as a base for Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface, a quintessential pale, babydoll pink.
EDM Anytime (unfortunately discontinued) is swatched below alongside 3CE Duo Color Face Blush in Creme De Violette (matte, smooth, pigmented) and The Face Shop’s LOVELY ME:EX You Face Blusher in 03 Purple Fantasy (soft, powdery texture with satin finish that looks almost white when built up).
Ah, I bought too much in LA. Some are gifts. But let’s be real, most of it is for me.
First, I bought some cotton pads to remove eye makeup. After Costco stopped offering my favorite Denon cotton pads (cheap and didn’t disintegrate or shed lint), I’ve been trying out different drugstore offerings and some Asian ones that I had lying around. They’ve all been meh. Here’s hoping these are better. Continue reading “They See Me Haulin’ Part 2: Haul Revealed”
